The Minister of Public Security, Álvar Cabeza de Vaca, announced that, in coming days, he will sit down with representatives of San Miguel de Allende’s foreign community to listen to their concerns regarding public safety and crime prevention programs in the municipality.
The minister has stated that, similar to the way these issues are handled in other Guanajuato municipalities, the state’s expat community will have the floor to tender their proposals.
The statesman also underlined that meetings will not only be held with the foreign residents, but also with professional colleges, civil society organizations, businesses and chambers of commerce.
Cabeza de Vaca emphasized that, in terms of operations, the ministry will continue to bridge efforts with the city of San Miguel de Allende, guaranteeing steady support via the State Public Security Force (FSPE).
The ministry will join forces with the municipal government to develop the most effective strategies to improve response coordination for the purpose of keeping the urban core and surrounding rural areas safe.
“As instructed by State Governor Miguel Márquez Márquez and as agreed upon by Mayor Mauricio Trejo, we are here to serve the community of San Miguel de Allende, and therefore, we will continue to take action to ensure public safety,” concluded the Minister of Security Alvar Cabeza de Vaca Appendini.
